Membership & Governance
Purpose
The Juneau International Folkdancers is an Alaska nonprofit corporation organized “to encourage the study and advancement of folk dancing and its related arts, and to bring recreational dancing, instruction, and performances to Southeast Alaska.” It is exempt from federal, state and local taxes.
Membership
JIF is a membership-based organization and membership is open to all who subscribe to its purposes and pays the annual membership fee in accordance with the following schedule:
- Regular member $15 - $29
- Sustaining member $30-$99
- Patron $100 or more
Checks should be made payable to “JIF” or “Juneau International Folkdancers” and mailed to JIF, P. O. Box 241031, Douglas, Alaska 99824-1031.
Board of Directors
JIF is managed by an eight-member board of directors who are elected at the annual meeting held each March. The board meets as needed to conduct the affairs of the corporation.
